Is bug spray safe?

Is there a kind that is safer than the others? DD already has some mosquito bites because we use her water table once our porch is in shade (about 5p). They are so swollen, so I want to prevent more!

Re: Is bug spray safe?

  • We just got regular bug spray for sensitive skin and I'll spray it on his clothes. I haven't used it yet though.

  • A lot of people on here have recommended California Baby's bug repellant.

  • We used family off wipes this past weekend while camping and DD only got 1 or 2 bites. They worked really well for us.

We use Burt's Bees.  It is a mixture of natural essential oils-- no DEET or chemicals.

  • We use Purple Prairie. I recommended their sunscreen on here the other day. It's comparable to California Baby but more affordable. It smells really good and also has witch hazel which helps soothe any bites your LO might already have. I tried it for the first time this weekend and I was skeptical at first because I still saw mosquitoes landing on us. Then I realized, after spending most of the weekend outdoors, none of us had any bug bites. So, it definitely works. You just need to spray it liberally and spray it often.
