Do you give DC a pillow for bed??

Probably a stupid question but my son is 19 months old and still sleeps in his crib. He just looks so uncomfortable flat on the mattress at night. Does anyone give their DC a pillow at bedtime? I have always been so scared to try it because of SIDS, Thanks

Re: Do you give DC a pillow for bed??

  • Yep - we gave him one a few months ago and he loves it. At this age, SIDS isn't really an issue.

  • I gave DS a pillow around 20 months.  He won't keep his head on it all night since he is a mover.  He is still in a crib and loves his pillow.  He will go to bed using it.  I got mine from onestepahead.com.

  • I talked to the pedi about it and she recommends waiting until the child is sleeping in one place (or around age 2).  DS is all over the place in his crib, so we are going to wait awhile.

  • DS has been sleeping so much better since he has a pillow in his crib,  He is also a lot less restless.  We gave him a really flat pillow from our bed, without a pillow case.  He's been using one for about 2 months now.

  • We gave DS a flattened pillow from our bed at 15 months and he sleeps great with it, I think he sleeps better than before.
