DD has taken to hitting me in the face, pulling my hair, or pinching me when she is displeased with me. She definitely knows she shouldn't be doing this, but does it anyway and then gets furious when I try to restrain her arms.
Is this a passing phase? She'll be doing this and then turn right around and hug me or touch me "nice & gentle" or give me kisses.
I don't notice that she really ever does it to DH.
I'm not a fan of being swatted at by my baby. ![]()
Re: Hitting & hair pulling
What do you do other than hold her arms? do you explain that she shouldn't hit, etc.
If you discipline, she will prob continue to test you over the next year but it should decrease big time.
Oh, yes, I tell her that "hitting isn't nice, we don't hit/hair pull, that hurts when you do that", etc. If she continues to do it (especially if I'm holding her), I put her down and explain it again and walk to the other side of the room.
Good to know that it should decrease, just wish it was sooner rather than later.
i kinda get the same momma abuse (lol) in my home. my baby girl is 19months and shes been just pintching/squeezing all in ONE on peoples face near the check let alone on myself.
esp in school when we go to parenting the toddler class, around her friends in the moms club or just random kids at the park.its just soo annoying and i want it to stop on my end and its just hard.its an phrase that our kids are doing this and i have no idea on how she learned it. oh well i get upset at her and try to scold her. good luck to us mommas.
