Fever for 5+ days?

Has anyone's child had a fever that lasted more that 5 days?  DD is 3 and has had a fever since last Thursday night.  When medicated, she acts completely normal, no other symptoms (except decreased appetite).  When not medicated, it spikes to 103.  We have done a urinalysis and blood test and everything came back normal.  Her pedi thinks it is just a virus.  Today was the first day we did not have to medicate her fever.  It has been 100-101 or normal so I am hopeful that whatever this is, it is on it's way out.  Please share your experiences.  Thanks!

    Yes, we experienced this last Oct/Nov.  DD ran a fever on and off for almost 2 months!  The first fever started the last day of Sept. and she was finally totally fever free by Thanksgiving.  The longest fever stretch was 9 days.  It would go away for a few days and then come back.  It was very frustrating.  We were also told 'it's just a virus'.  She had chest x-rays, blood work, and everything came back fine.  On the plus side, that was the last time she was sick.  Made it all winter w/out another fever.
