I agree with you, but do you really think this post will change anyone's mind?
Get over your high and mighty self and feed your own kid- perhaps also teach them something us cheese-feeders are doing-- keeping our mouths shut when appropriate.
First of all, thank you for my daily chastising. I feel properly scolded now and feel like I've gotten my daily dose of unsolicited parenting advice.
Secondly, I don't think anyone feeds their child those things in large quantities. A taste here or there is not going to cause childhood obesity or illness.
Thirdly, if I choose to feed my child a grilled cheese made with whole grain bread and olive oil, I also include cut up avacado or cucumbers, tomato, and any other number of healthy things for her to eat.
And you're right, MOST people can't afford to buy organic, but good for you that you can.
This is what I was going to say.
I also agree that the "bad" stuff can be made good when adding veggies/fruit.
I think you need to chill a bit. It's really none of your business, no matter how wrong you think it is.
For some reason the OP's in these threads always disappear...
HAH. Yes I did dissapear - to put my ds down for nap. Sorry I cant sit anxiously waiting for the justification of all the crap you guys feed your kids. I know I am being judgy. You think I was posting this as a neutral point? I do judge you all who feed your kids crap. Obviously my ds cant eat organic forever but IN OUR HOME where I can control his food intake - he will eat healthy. I think you all who use the excuse " they need to learn to eat real food" Or " you can protect them forever" are just coping out. Yes our kids will have junk in thier lifetime but do they have to have it before they hit 12months? Or even 2years old? There is a reason we have a problem with obesity and childhood obesity in north america. The stuff you give your kids now is setting up thier tastes for life. You are the one making the choices for your kids and so when your kids are picky eaters at 2yrs only wanting to eat hot dogs and grilled cheese & juice you will all know why.
My kid might end up fat, but she'll know basic English grammar, spelling and punctuation.
FTW!
OP - Obviously you know we're judging you just as harshly. Good luck when your kid ends up in fat camp. Karma's a b!tch, eh?
Thats great you can afford all organic. However we can't. I give DD a taste of most everything we eat (with in reason). Why do you care what I feed my child? Its posts like these that are pointless and cause drama. Maybe you need some extra attention today?

. Its just a choice we have made. But I just cant believe some of the stuff I see on here. Holy crap.
Exactly. It's a choice YOU made. Stop judging other people and kindly STFU. Why do you care what other moms feed their children? Get off your high horse and stop telling us how to be parents.
And one more thing - my DH is 6'2" and weighs 180. He eats whatever he wants. I'm 5'0 and weigh 97 lbs. I've been known to indulge in non-organic (gasp!) fattening foods.
Go away.
ETA: This was in reference to your moronic obese assumption.
How do you know that the grilled cheese isn't made from organic ingredients? Huh?
How's the air up their? Please. Get off your high horse. Even if I did feed my child the things you said I would not be ashamed. Most of the items you listed were tastes anyhow.

This is not true. Tastes change and mature over a lifetime. I hated veggies as a child, now I love them. Besides 2 year olds control two things in their life. What they eat and were they sh!t. You can provide your baby with great nutrition and when they are two they might decide they only like 5 things and grilled cheese is one of them. You can battle them or compromise. Compromise is not about giving in, but about providing healthy, tasty choices that make food fun.
I agree with most everyone who replied. You're being way too judgy and are out of line.
My kid doesn't eat food. She refuses to eat green veggie purees, won't touch finger food fruit or veggies except bananas and has some chicken. What do you expect me to do, force feed her these things with a tube? I have given her pieces of grilled cheese and she eats it. Cheese is ok for babies as is whole wheat bread. She gets maybe a tablespoon full of it during meals. That's it. I think you seriously need to chill out and not judge.
This is my DD exactly!! It is a struggle to get her to eat anything!! She may take a few bites of something then she is done!!! Veggies are a no no. She may put them in her mouth then spits them out!! The only way I can get some veggies into her is by giving her YoBaby yogurt with the fruit/veggie mix. Did you ever try those? DD loves them!! But I worry all the time because she doesn't eat!!!

J eats mostly organic fruit and veggies and we try to get organic chicken. he had string cheese yesterday, but it was the reduced sodium kind. i don't think of cheese as being unhealthy.
he has not had chips, ice cream or fast food. nothing is wrong with grilled cheese either. your post is very "holier than thou" and annoying IMO.

This. Just worry about your own child.

Whatever.
OP - your kid is 8 months old - he's been eating food for 2 whopping months? So glad to see you're the expert.
You've proven yourself to be obnoxious before. I can't think of anything better than being judged by you.

Only if it's organic and covered with organic butter. Wouldn't want to get any of those popcorn butter chemicals in my breastmilk.
Nah, she'll have vegan wheatgrass cake.
