XP- Allergy med question

I had been taking Loratadine (Clariton) but it seemed like it wasn't working very well on its own. So, I remembered the doc that had started me on that a few years ago saying that if the Clariton + prescribed med combo (I haven't been on that since pregnant) wasn't working than we might have to try Zyrtec.  So, this weekend I picked up Zyrtec and have been using it since Sunday.  It works better.  However, this morning I looked on the box and it said that it's not recommended for breast feeding.  Have any of you talked to your doc about this? Do you use it?  I figured since it was over the counter it shouldn't be bad, but maybe I'm wrong. Thanks ahead of time!

    My doc. said that Zyrtec was OK for me to take. Hope you feel better!

    Both my OB and ped say Zyrtec is OK. I'm on Zyrtec and Flonase for allergies. HTH!

    I'm on Zyrtec too, my MD said it was okay AND I read about it in the Medications and Mothers Milk book which also said it was totally fine.  I think every single bottle of vitamin / supplement / medication says it's not okay so you always have to do a little more research.  Hope you're feeling better!

    My doctor said Zyrtec was fine too.  Just not the Zyrtec D.

    I just today called my doctor to ask about taking zyrtec.  I took benedryl during pregnancy, but obviously I need to be a little more coherent with a newborn!  He told me not to take it and that it is not safe for pregnancy.  I will be trying Claritin tomorrow.  Not a big fan of Claritin, but oh well.
