NBR: bad haircut

I've been going to the same salon for a few years and I love my stylist.  Last week I was going in just for a cut and my stylist had an emergency and wasn't there so they asked if I would mind if another girl cut my hair.  I didn't care, this girl had cut my hair once before and it was fine (not as good as my stylist but fine).

My hair looked good when I left the salon but the next day I realized it wasn't what I wanted, there was like no style to it, just cut straight across on the bottom.  I have never gone back to a salon to have them fix a cut I didn't like but this time I did and it ended up being worse than before.  She added some layers but they made my hair even thicker and they are so choppy they don't really flow at all, it just looks ridiculous.  I didn't notice how bad it actually was because I was in a rush, I had dd with me and she didn't really style it so I couldn't totally see the finished product.

I feel like an as$ to go back AGAIN, I definitely don't want to be one of those clients that is never happy.  Would I look totally ridiculous to go back and say I want MY stylist to fix it?? I'm not sure I have the balls to call them again, I'll probably just wait until my next appt oyyy

Re: NBR: bad haircut

  • I am so sorry, I know how hard this can be!  I have had two really bad haircuts in my life (like lock yourself in the bedroom and cry bad).

My usual stylist does a great job, but there was one time I got home and it just wasn't laying correctly and taking me forever to style.  I called the salon the next day and I went back in and she fixed the spots I was having trouble with.

I wouldn't feel bad to go back again, they want you to be happy.  I think it would be reasonable for your original stylist to recut you, since the substitude stylist gave you a bad cut, and a bad recut, too.

I would call the manager today and not feel bad about it.  Like I said, they want you to be happy.  I am sure that s/he will agree that it is best that you don't get back in replacement stylist's chair, and just have you come in and see your usual stylist.
