We're going through hell right now. Cutting top molars, draining ears, and just getting rid of a stomach bug.
Now the kid is covered in a red splotchy rash. It's not warm to the touch and he doesn't seem to be itchy.
We haven't introduced brand new foods or changed detergents. I'm at a loss. I'm going to call the nurse line the the am but, in the mean time, anyone else deal with this?
Re: Splotchy red rash?
can you post a pic?
just bc you didnt introduce new food does not mean that its not a food allergy.
He's in bed or I would. When he wakes in the am I will post one.
I did not know that it could be a reaction this late in the game.
yeah my dd1 became allergic to mandarins after about a year or more of eating them.
let me get a pic of her face from then. it was horrible
let me go google and see if something similar comes up.
That's absolutely insane!

The face of this kid is close to what it looks like all over Dillon.

Note that his stomach doesn't look near as bad as that. It's just splotchy.
Oh goodness! Poor baby!!
His isn't that bad.
Yep, same thing happened to DS, only it was peanuts. He'd had peanut butter for nearly a year before his first rash, and then they got worse. He was diagnosed last week and now we have to carry an epi pen
It started out as a blotchy rash on his face and then spread to his entire body. His face stayed looking like punk's DD and his body looked like the pic you found by googling.
It might be prudent to give him benadryl and call his pedi to do some testing. Good luck!
Thanks so much, ladies.
I'm curious as to what the doc has to say.
Alyssa had the same exact rash a few months ago after having a bit of a bug. Called the dr. and he said it was most likely a viral bug and would go away on it's own in a few days. He suggested we just let it run its course, no meds or anything, as long as she didn't appear to be uncomfortable or "itchy." Just like he said, it went away, all on its own, within 48 hours.
Freaked me the eff out though. Of course it happened while we were on vacation!
