swaddling question

LO hates to be hot...really anything over 68 degrees is too hot for her..But she LOVES to be swaddled. Does anyone have any light weight suggestions for swaddling blankets or prefabricated swaddlers? We can keep the air down at night but it would break the bank to keep the air down that low all day long. We have used receiving blankets but we haven't found ones big enough to keep her from breaking out of them and pulling them up around her mouth. She's being watched during the day by my mother at our house so I need to give her suggestions. So ladies, what have you found that is light weight but still provides LO with the intense swaddle sensation? I really appreciate it.

We use these as well.  We swaddle him with just his diaper on underneath.  He loves it!

  • Ohh good question......My LO loves to be swaddled but I worry about her being hot. Right now I am just putting her in a diaper and using a recieving blanket. I can really only get her to use a few types of blankets and won't use the Swaddlers for some reason.

  • We use the Aden and Anais blankets from target.. the blankets are made out of muslin and really light weight.
  • our little houdini busts out of the aden and anais swaddle blankets (though i love them in theory!) so we now exclusively use the kiddopotamus swaddle wrap and it works very very well.  unless we are sloppy and do it too loosely, he doesn't get out of it.

he's a month old and the small size is a perfect fit for now.  he'll grow out of it soon enough, though.

  • We've been using cotton Halo SleepSack swaddles, and they aren't too hot for my LO.  I just put a onsie underneath him and i also have a fan going in his room (not only to add a cool breeze, but the circulating air helps reduce the risk of SIDS).  The Halo ones make it really easy to get that nice tight swaddle, especially in the middle of the night.

  • We use the Miracle Blanket - she seems to really like it.  Our house is A/C to about 72 but we also have a fan going in our room.  Sometimes she just has a onesie and diaper underneath and always seems comfortable.  The Miracle Blanket is a really soft t-shirt material - it's also very secure and she can never kick out of it :)
