nursing bra for hosp...

So please recommend your nursing bra and what do I need for the hosp? I have nursing tanks but didn't know what to do about a bra. TIA

I used sleepbras at the hospital and they worked great

I have 4 of those now. :) Loved them. You shouldn't need a bra with a nursing tank - the bra is built in.

  • I preferred nursing tanks at the hospital and for the first few weeks home.  Actually, come to think of it, I still prefer them, haha!

  • It is best to hold off on buying a nursing bra until your milk comes in so that you get the correct size. I lived in my nursing tanks for the fist 8 weeks or so and then went and got fitted for my bras.
  • You can use just the nursing tanks. Or get a sleep bra. You don't want to invest too much into bras until your milk has come in and regulated.

I used a sleep bra.  I liked because I didn't feel too exposed during delivery and could still do skin-to-skin because it didn't cover my tummy like a tanktop would.  The first few weeks you'll live in the tanks and sleep bras anyway, and shouldn't invest in the regular nursing bras until your milk comes in and you will know your size.  (I went up a cup and a band size and for some bras went up two band sizes!)

  • How about a nursing nightgown? I got one from Glamourmom Nursing Bra Nightgown as a gift (baby shower), I took it to the hospital since I knew I'd be drowning in the hospital gowns.  They are super comfy and soft and gives easy access to feed the baby.  I felt much better about wearing them since I didn't want to expose myself when I had visitors.

I wore the nursing bra tank home, but pretty much lived in the nightgown for the first couple of weeks at home.
