I have a knitted/crocheted yarn baby blanket and have no idea how to wash it without ruining it. There's no tag with care instructions. I know not to put it in the dryer, but what about the washer? Is cold water good enough? Thoughts?
I'd hand wash, if you want to 'risk' it then I'd do it alone in cold water on delicate and then air dry.
The moment a child is born,
the mother is also born.
She never existed before.
The woman existed, but the mother, never.
A mother is something absolutely new.
Is it Lacy or a tighter weave? Cotton or acrylic (you should be able to feel the difference.) Either way, wash it on gentle with whatever soap and softner you normally use. If it is Acrylic, you could tumble dry on low for a few minutes until it's damp, then lay flat to finish drying. Cotton I would just lay flat.
Why not hand wash? That's what people who have knit me blankets say to do, I don't know what is right though!

i would wash in cold, reshape, and lay flat to dry.
you could always handwash it if you're worried.
