It's a legitimate question. I was not cleared for sex until two months post partum because of the horrible bleeding I had.

Ummm.. my doc said to do it when we felt comfortable and that the six-week thing was a 'guideline' that doctors gave for liability/insurance issues.

My OB didn't tell me to wait till 6wks.. He said once bleeding stops, that means it's safer but to use protection and if there was any pain to stop. We waited till 4wks PP.... Everyone is different, there are always exceptions to the "rule"
Do you realize that not every doctor follows the 6wk rule.....

OMG I had sex 2 days post partum and it was AWESOME! It was with 6 guys. It was a train planned on CL. It was supposed to be to help induction when I was pregnant, but gosh darnit the baby came 2 weeks early. I'm sure you can find the video out there somewhere.
Anyway, It was AWESOME!

I'm constantly shocked at how many people have sex before getting cleared. Its pretty risky. I remember when is in the 1st tri, a poster on this board said she wanted to have sex at 4 weeks or so and she was flamed to the high heavens. I wonder why, between now and then, it became more normal to take that risk.
I find it interesting.
