Babies on the Brain

Ok Carseat Question 2.0

What about getting THIS travel system (and having my parents get the other carseat) so that we have the baby bucket from that and the stroller to use even when they're done with the baby bucket?  I love the stroller lots.

BUT I want to really try baby wearing so IDK how much I'd actually use the stroller...

Thoughts?

Re: Ok Carseat Question 2.0

  • IDK much about travel systems.  It is verrry pretty.  The carseat is up to 22 lbs, so that might be something to consider.

Also, for me babywearing was very dependent on where I was going and how much other stuff I needed to carry.  Babywearing whle running into the grocery store for a few things, muy bueno.  Babywearing while clothes shopping at the mall, no bueno.

  • That travel system is adorable. I have it on my list to look at this weekend.

The only thing I saw in reviews around the web is to try it with the handle flipped, bc one set of wheels doesn't pivot, and when they're in the front it can be difficult to steer.

I like the idea of having a travel system now and the convertible seat later.

  • We have a graco travel system and I love it. Abbey rides in her seat about 1/2 the time and is worn the other half, just depending on where we are going/what we are doing. I will say a Moby is a must.
  • Thanks ladies :)

  • No personal thoughts on that particular travel system, but I would say a stroller/infant seat is a MUST. You have no idea how easy it is to pick the carseat up and either snap it into the stroller, or put it on the shopping cart. No waking up baby to put them into a sling, and just the ease of use is so worth it.

I would have died without my travel system. We don't use the stroller much anymore, we got a more lightweight one now that he's bigger. But in the beginning it's great. I would look into getting a carseat that has a higher weight limit. You can get a Chicco that goes up to 30, and I think a Graco up to 32. It's a little more expensive, but the extra 10lbs is great. Logan is over 1 year old and not quite 20lbs (obviously he's on the small side), but I couldn't imagine putting him into a convertible seat right now. He still seems so tiny, and I just like that the infant seats are more comfortable looking for them.

  • I'd skip the travel system unless you get one on mega clearance (our Target had the Graco ones for $50 the other day).  The seat & a snap-n-go do the same thing and are easier to store for later use.  I think once you get to the stroller using part, you can just use a lightweight umbrella type.

As for the XTSL from your post below... we got 2 b/c we're in the same drop-off/pick-up situation with daycare.

  • I have that exact travel system and really like it.

How does it handle when you flip it?
