Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Are we crazy??

We are considering doing a remodel to our house this summer which would entail an addition and full remodel of 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and Im freakin pg!  I could stay w/inlaws for part of it but they are cross-country.

Otherwise, the idea of doing this when we have 2 children will make it virtually impossible unless we moved out.  So, it's now or never.  Anyone do a remodel while pg?  How did it go?

  • It is a lot easier to do while pregnant than with two kids, provided you are hiring out the work.

Uhh....maybe...that you are huge, uncomfortable, stressed and adding the kind of chaos that a remodel (with a toddler in house) brings seems like a very daunting task.  Maybe the fact that you want to prepare and organize for a new baby and not be in a construction zone has something to do with it.

Honestly, having just had a baby and about to move across the country, which is different than a remodel, but still a hassle, this would have been way easier pregnant than having two kids.  If you know you are going to do it eventually, do it before you have another kid.  It will be a headache and you will think you are nuts for attempting it while pregnant but it will be better in the long run.  GL!

  • I can only describe a remodel while pregnant as someone making you carry around an extra 30 lbs of weight, filling the room with paint fumes and making you breath into a bag full of dust.   I hated it but the house looked great in the end.

No work for me, but dealing with a house that will be torn up is the part that worries me.  Our master will be turned into ds's room, his room will be torn open with an addition to include a master bath.  The 3rd room will be minor w/closets being rearranged.  That is why Im apprehensive.  Plus,  I think we would lose our a/c!

Thanks for the truth:)  Im thinking I can plan to get away when the major work is being done.  The end result and having the master suite I dreamed of is my motivator.
