If so, were you dilated at all? How many weeks and what was the baby measuring?
I am going for growth ultrasound, I had this with my first but he came out at 38 weeks on his own. This baby isn't showing any progress. My cervix is soft but I have not dilated.
If you were induced for size, please share your story. TIA
Well, I wasn't induced, but I did have to get a C-section because of this. He was measuring large and he never engaged in my pelvis...even after hours on Pitocin. I made it to an 8 with no drugs, but after getting stuck there for 2 hours they said he was not going to come out, and the pain was unbearable so I got an Epi and was wisked away to a C-section. I am sorry...probably not helpful, esp if you are nervous!
I was induced at 38 weeks due to size. I dilated completely but after 3 hours of pushing, I couldn't get him out. He came via c-section weighing 9lbs 3oz.

They induced me because they thought she was between 9 and 10 pounds. Was induced on Wed. morning. They broke my water to get things started around 6. Got to 3 cm, got the epi (4 attempts) and never got more than 3 cm. She was born Thursday by c-secction at 6:18. The doctors were guessing her size before the c-section to be about 9 pounds, maybe 8 and 3/4. She came out 11 pounds 1 oz!!!!!! LOVE MY BIG BABY!!!! Thank god she never dropped and never made it past 3 cm!!!!
My baby was estimated to be 8 1/2 pounds at 36 weeks and I had another ultrasound scheduled mid way through my 39th week to see if he was estimated to be at the 10 pound mark. At which point my doctor would have recommended intervention of some sort (either induction or c-section).
Thankfully, I went into labor on my own just 2 days before my ultrasound was scheduled and I successfully delivered my 9lb 10oz baby after a long and hard labor, but only 25 minutes of pushing.
How long will your doctor let you go before inducing? Are you familiar with the Bishop score calculation? (Your Bishop score at the time of induction greatly estimates your chance of a c-section . . . )

I was induced with DS after measuring big for weeks. After several u/s and an amnio they induced me at 36 almost 37 weeks. She broke my water once I was dilated enough, and then started pitocin. I dilated to 10 after 9 hours, and pushed for 4 and a half hours. He was delivered by vacuum and perfectly healthy (but with a bruised head).

Not my personal birth story, but my SIL had GD and LO was measuring big so they induced her. Her daughter was 8 1/2lbs and she delivered vaginally.
On the flip side-my dr estimated DS to be 7lbs. I even had a 3rd trimester u/s and he measured in the "average" size range. DS ended up being 10lbs. Those estimates can definitely be inaccuate.

OMG - you deserve a labor award!!! How big did he end up being?

I had been measuring large my entire 3rd trimester. In between my 38 and 39 week appointments he had a growth spurt so my doc sent me in for an ultrasound. They estimated him to be 9lbs 11oz. We induced by going straight on pitocin due to me being dialated to 2cm and having a favorable cervix. After breaking my water they found that he was face presentation so we did a c-section. He ended up being 9lbs 7oz.

He was 8 pounds 6 ounces. He was sunny side up and looking over his shoulder. That was why it took so long. I was just lucky that he was able to come out vaginally. At one point I was so tired I was lying about having a contraction because I just couldn't push anymore. It is really funny now to see it on video, but my OB said "are you having a contraction?" (which was obvious on the monitors) and through clenched teeth and sweating I was like "nooooooooo." At one point I also asked if I could go home if I promised to come back in the morning.

GL to you!

I wasn't induced, but we scheduled a c/s becasue of his estimated size. At 39w2d I was still only 1.5cm and we were est him to be over 9lbs.
He ended up being 10lbs 6oz. I also have a previous hip injury that was a concern with trying to push out a baby...especially a large baby.
Not much help, but I'm ok with my choice. And glad I made it based on how big he ended up being.
