3rd Trimester

S/O on trying to get baby to come early - am I the only one...?

Am I the only one who DOESN'T want LO to come early?

Sure, I'm uncomfortable and eager to meet him, but seriously, I have SO much still left to do, and July is SUPER crazy at work. If this baby comes early, of course I'll be thrilled to see him, but it will REALLY throw a wrench in the works!!! LOL

Anyone else hoping LO stays put until 40w?  (Actually I'm hoping for 4w3d - our company picnic is 2 days after my due date! LOL)

  • I'm with you . . . I'm super comfortable and love being pregnant and am fine going up to/past my due date.  What I do NOT want is to be induced -- that's my only concern.

  • I want LO to come on time or late for financial reasons. If I go early, then I could be up a creek.
  • I told baby he just had to wait until at least after yesterday.  May is a huge month for us at work, and now that it's over - things are going to calm waaaay, waaaay down.  So, he is free to come whenever!

On one hand, I'd like to go to June 18th when I'm scheduled to be induced.  It's a good day.

On the other hand, if he came earlier I would quit getting bugged by everyone! Angry

  • The main reason I want LO to come before her due date (June 25) is because that very day is my OB's last day and then he's moving to Texas... He's an amazing dr and I really don't wanna switch last minute. But LO will come when she's ready which of course is perfectly fine, so whatever happens I know it will all work out. :-)

  • I'm getting pretty uncomfortable but I still wan LO to stay put until his due date.  We are not ready for him - we don't even have anything for him to sleep in right now and we've got lot's of stuff planned before his due date.
  • I for one am hoping for my "in a perfect world where I am the all powerfull queen" senario of baby being delivered via our scheduled cesarean (baby is breech and DD was born via cesarean as well) on July 12th so that my last day at work will be July 9th and my DH's time off will coinside nicely with my first two weeks home (because I won't be able to drive). I plan to ask today if we do anything drastically different if LO decides to throw a wrench in the plans and choose its own birthday. My guess would be no. We'd just go to the hospital and then they'd do the cesarean.

  • I'm ready any time now.  But won't really get annoyed until 40w2d.
  • I fully expected DD to be late and was operating under that assumption the entire time.  I was in no rush to get her out if she wasn't ready.

As it turned out my water broke at 39w.  I didn't have a bag packed or anything.  At least I had the carseat base installed and had gotten it inspected already.

  • Nope. I have an induction scheduled for Tuesday so I want to go on my own before then!

  • I was late with both of my kids, so have already prepared for that as the likely option and have a lot of work stuff lined up over the next week.  Of course, that would probably be the exact reason why this one would be a pain in my butt and come early:)  In an ideal world, I would like to go into labor next Sunday so that I get through all of my work, can attend my neighborhood festival and don't get to the point of being overdue.  We'll see if he listens to me!

Nope. I'm very nervous about juggling a newborn and my almost 3 year old. But I also don't want to deliver another 9lb+ baby.

  • I feel so unprepared for this baby, so on one hand, the longer he/she waits to come, the better!  We are buyign another house right now and thigns are really up in the air right now.  I was induced at 11 days past my due date with my first so I am prepared to go late with this one.  On the other hand, my sister is getting married less than a month after my due date and I'm MOH soooo yikes!  I'd like a bit of time to lose the weight!  So whatever happens happens!

As long as I can make it to full term, he can come.

  • I was more than happy to be pregnant for 40w and even a week late, until she started talking about his size and how if he's over the 9lb. mark, we are just going for a c-section and won't even try vaginally.  He's already big and has been measuring ahead since 18w.  I would so much rather deliver him vaginally and my doctor is with me.  I can honestly say that any day now would be fine.  We are also very ready and just waiting now.
  • Me! A couple of days early would be okay, but if he came right now it would definitely throw us off our game a bit. I'm not super uncomfortable or miserable, and he's going to be here for the rest of my life. I can wait a few more days!

  • I was the same way a couple weeks ago - I was praying not to go into labor because we had no furniture, DH just opened a business and was NEVER home, our place needed to be cleaned and I could only do so much and I had school and work full time. This week everything has calmed down a little so I can finally say I'm ready!

  • Now that I'm over 39 weeks, I'm ready for her to make her big arrival.  Only recently have I felt this way, though, even if it would still technically be "early".

  • My only chance of a vbac is to have baby come early, so I'm hoping she'll be here before 40 wks. Plus I'm super uncomfortable this time around. With DD I was fine up until 40 weeks when I got PUPPPS. Now my feet are swollen and uncomfortable. My back is sore after working all day. I can't walk more than 2 blocks without getting out of breath. I'm just over 33 weeks. I can't last much longer.

  • well you could feel totally different in a few weeks. i was perfectly comfortable still at 31 w. its just gotten bad in the last week - im in a lot of pain (ribs, hips, cramping) and Im not sleeping. pair that with caring for a toddler all day = sucks.

but i would never wish for my baby to come early (before 37 weeks). but now at 38 1/2 weeks i would love to meet her. but im not trying an OWTs or anything yet.
