crocs? water shoes?

in Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months
DS's class is going to start water play the week after next, and I need to find him water shoes.  They need to have closed toes for safety reasons on the playground.  Should I find actual water shoes, or would crocs work just as well?  Thoughts and suggestions welcome!

    We have been using crocs for certain water play so far, but I think I am actually going to try to find a pair of actuall water shoes as well. His crocs seem to slip off a little too easily when they are wet, so I feel like I am constantly putting his shoes back on :)

    Not sure if you have a Target near you, but I found these water shoes with velcro in the swim section.  They are made by speedo and have worked great so far.  His feet don't slip like they did in the crocs.  I actually bought 2 pair (current and next size).

    I would buy actual water shoes.   In my experience the crocs seems to fall off a lot easier.  The kids get a bit excited with water play and it is kind of hard to run around in them.

    DD has crocs for right now and they have been working out pretty well but I think water shoes would be better. BRU has some cute ones and when I was there on Tues they were buy one get one half off.

    Thanks!  The slipping was a concern of mine, and since I haven't actually used them, didn't want to waste the money.
