SUV and car seat question.

I have an suv  (ford escape) and it has folding seats.   I think the officer called them 80/20 seats.  She said its unsafe to put the car seat in the middle cause of the seat. It is unsafe cause that is where the seat folds.  Have you heard of this? All SUV seats fold..right.

    I have an X5 and mine is in the middle too. I have not heard this either.

    I have a Honda Pilot and the car seat inspector said it was safest in the middle...so that's where it is.

    i have an escape too but dd doesn't sit in the middle ..flame away but she's behind the passenger seat. the space b/t the 2 LATCH tabs were too far apart when we had the seat in the middle.

    I also have an Escape and my DS rides behind the driver's seat.  The seat won't work in the middle if you use the LATCH system, which I feel is the safest method of securing the seat.
