My BFF's son's name is Cooper. She calls him Coop and I think it's adorable! Honestly though, when she first told me his name the first thing I thought of was that it rhymed with pooper and I guess that's probably what the *ssholes at your job thought too. It's really not that big a deal (about the rhyming), but that's the only negative thing I can say about it.
If you love it, use it!!! Those people are RUDE and I wouldn't listen to them! Listen to your December Mama's board!!
I have come to the decision that we were the ones who created the child, we are the ones that name it. Our opinions on the are the only ones that matter. The people that are closest to us love the the name. THATS what matters. I refuse to let people I work with dictate my feelings on my childs name. There are so many more important things.
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in my heart)
Cooper is strange? News to me. That's actually one of the boy names I like that is a little unique but isn't Uneek. I think you're fine. I know a couple Coopers (I used to teach pre school) and they were all adorable.
This! I inevitably know a preschooler I taught that has a name that someone suggests and so it gets nixed because of a child with a "lovely" personality with the same name. But I've never met a Cooper I didn't like!
I don't think it's a bad name. It just always reminds me of a kid in elementary school that they called "Cooper the Pooper Trooper"...so that's the first thing I think of...unfortunately.
I'm in the not sharing names camp. My favorite aunt was asking me today and I lied and said I didn't have any ideas for a boy because she is too opinionated and I don't want to hear it.
Cooper is a great name. Don't let them make you worry.

don't worry about that. My brother is 25, totally hot, well-built and works in sales. His name is Francis. He is proud of it and NO ONE calls him anything else.
People are who they are and what's wrong with Cooper anyway?

Their reaction sounds pretty ridiculous.
Cooper is DH's top name for a boy. It would be Cooper Harrison (DH's middle name that he goes by).
I'm not sold on it, but I don't think it's a bad name at all.

Cooper+Evie=Soulmates

I like the name - it was top of my list for the longest time. But now I have new names to consider.
