3rd Trimester

if you are doing wall letters

Whether you are doing them yourself or having them made, what is the most you would spend on them?  Trying to decide if I should fork over the $$ to have nice ones made or go cheapo like I did with # 1.

Re: if you are doing wall letters

  • I ordered mine off of etsy & the vendor charges by letter.  We're naming our baby girl "Ashlyn", & I think it was like $8-9 per letter.  We ended up ordering matching nail covers as well, so in all it was like around $60-$65.

  • I did mine myself.  I got the letters, paint, and brushes from Michaels and I think it was around 35-40 when all was said and done.  My son's name will be Topher, so that was for supplies for 6 letters.

  • We made them with DD1 and I will be buying them this time. Both sets averaged to be around $40. For us it was the perfect amount you aren't going to keep them forever. (both girls have 5 letter names)
  • I ordered mine to custom match his bedding. I only did his initials though because his name is so long. It cost me about 60.00.

  • I bought wooden ones at Michael's and painted myself to match room.  Cost around $15 for letters, paint, and polyurethane.

  • I made my own using a digital scrapbooking software. I'm going to frame them in floating frames from IKEA that I got 2 for $3, and then it's just a matter of printing them at Costco in 8x8 size for $1.39 each.  I probably wouldn't spend more than $5 or $6 each for the letters.

  • I bought wooden letters, spray glued them with paper, then super glued ribbon on the back to hang them. Total cost was around $20.00
  • I made mine b/c I couldnt imagine spending that kind of money on decorations like that. They look so cute tho! I decoupaged them with awesome scrapbook paper and then added little 3D details to them. I also have a little birdie decal (to match theme) to "sit" on top of one of the letters. I'm so happy I didnt waste money on the $$$ ones from etsy.
