not ready or try diff. food?

I tried LO on oatmeal last night...she tolerated it. Pushed a lot of it out, but did eat some. This morning I tried rice...she puked big time with the first bite. So I thought OK we'll stuck with oatmeal, puked big time again. Is she not ready or should I try a different food?

First of all - you should only be trying one at a time (3-4 days of the one before introducing another).  Oatmeal gave my DS a tummy ache.  Take a break and try again next week.

    It was like a bite.

She's had rice in her bottle before, so I knew she was ok with that.

  • It sounds like she's not ready. And I would try not to mix foods like that, especially in the beginning.

  • We tried rice cereal last night, with pretty much the same reaction.... she did end up eating some of it though.  I think you just have to introduce is slowly.  With my son though, he had no problems, he started scarfing it down right away!
  • My daughter never liked rice cereal, oatmeal went over a lot better.

Then maybe it's just the oatmeal.  DS enjoys eating the oatmeal but then he would get really fussy like he has a tummy ache afterwards.  Rice goes better with him.  Maybe oatmeal is just for her - try something else.

edit: Maybe oatmeal is just not for her
