Anyone's child completely obssessed with a toy?

My son loves cars, trains anything that moves. My husband got him this amazing train table, imaginarium. Needless to say, my son is obsessed. He played with it for 4 hours straight yesterday with few breaks for a walk, and to eat for 5 minutes. Now we are rethinking the purchase. I know it is good for his imagination but I don't know if it's too much.

What do you think?

Yes! My son is obsessed with his Little Tikes Easy Score basketball net. Loves it! Plays with all. day. long. He is also obsessed with his o-ball (big rubber balls with holes). He takes it everywhere we go. I sometimes get concerned, especially about the basketball, but I've been assured time and time again that it's normal at this age.
