My DH is set on Jake Travis as our boy name. He wants to call this boy, J.T. ....
What do you think of initial names? I can't say that I love it.
DH is set on Travis as the middle name, it has some significance with him and his father.
What other J names can you suggest that go with Travis as a middle name?

Thanks, Jake is okay. I guess I feel like it's a little too popular in the area I am in.
I'm afraid of him having too many names for example: DH calling him J.T., me calling him Jake.... I don't want the poor little guy to be confused.
I much prefer Jacob over the name Jake. Jake is a fine nn, but IMO isn't great as a full name. Other J names I like:
Joshua, James, Julian, Jason
I think inital names are cute esp. if the LO is a jr. For example, DH is Kevin and so is his dad, so DH is called K.J. by his fam.
J names: Jake/Jacob/Justin/James/Jack/John/Jeffrey/Jay/Joseph
Oh and as for other J names ...
Joshua
Jamison
Jackson/Jack
Jared
Jeremiah
Jonathon/Jon
Judah
Jude
Jonah
My favorites are Jacob/Jake, Joshua, Jack and Jonah.

Thanks for the input!
DH is Jason, so I could grow to love a Jason Travis with a nn of J.T.
I like it okay now that you pointed out the baby would be a Jr.
If you need J name ideas watch 19 kids and counting on TLC.
But I highly discourage the use of Jim Bob. hehe

This. I immediately assume that someone with an initial name (esp. an adult named like PJ or EJ) is WT.
We will have to set up a good ole' play date for PJ & JT.
They can form a "Hick initial name support group".
I have never thought it sounded "hickish". The more I think about it, I really like the idea of naming my boy after DH Jason Travis.
Yee-Haw, I like PJ
Lol, sounds good. We don't really have any initial names around here in NY, that's why I'm little confused about the WT connection. I am from the trailer park though, so I guess my roots are showing. :-)
I haven't seen too many initial names here in GA either, and I do sort of live in the "country". I see names like the following, Dewayne, Beau, Wade, Horace, Cletus, and Bambi. Everyone is entited to their own opinions, and these are our babies.
I dare someone to call my baby JT a hick.
I'm not a fan of initial names either. I think Jake is really nice though.
James, Jared, Jonah, Jack, Josh/Joshua, Jay/Jason
Not a huge fan of initial names. I know I have J.B. on my ticker, but that's just because I'm paranoid and don't want to put his name out there when my last name is in my user name.
At least your LO will have initials that actually stand for something. My FIL's name is J.B. and it stands for nothing. His name is literaly two letters.
