I did not register for more than the medela accessory pack because some kids really have a preference for certain bottles. For DD's first two weeks, she had to take a bottle because of latch issues, and once I got her nursing, she had so many issues I did not introduce a bottle again until this week. It is looking like it will be some trial and error with bottle types...so anyway what I am saying is I would not register for any because you don't know if your LO will be the type who is picky and you have to try 5 different kinds or if LO will take to whatever you give.
We have tried three different types of bottles before finding a kind that didn't cause him too much gas. Unfortunately we stocked up on one kind before we realized our mistake. Now that we've settled, we have 9 and that's plenty. We FF.

Ditto what PPs have said. Don't stock up on one brand until your LO arrives as LO may have a peference.
Also, DH and I were just saying today how we shouldn't have bought so many of the smaller (4oz) bottles and just got more of the larger ones. DD has outgrown the smaller ones quicker than we thought. We are using 2 of the smaller ones since we have so many of them.
we started with three 5 oz. bottles...then i got tired of washing bottles all the time so we bought 5 more so we'd have enough for all of his feedings each day. we haven't bought any 8 oz. bottles yet because he takes 4 oz. right now.

If you are bottle feeding I would say 8 bottles. I mostly BF and sometimes pump and bottle feed so we only have 4 bottles. Personally, I wouldn't recommend Medela. We have some and the nipple seems to collapse as soon as he starts sucking. Other people have told me that too. I just use the Medela to pump into. We use BornFree and I like them.
