XP: OB/Gyn recs near Union & a hospital question

My DH and I are planning TTC in the near future. So, my last appointment at the OB/Gyn near my home was a nightmare in terms of how insanely crazy their office was and the service. I'd like to find somewhere else to have my preconception consultation, so I can go on prenatals. Does anyone have any recs near the area?

My second question: has anyone delivered at Overlook in Summit or Saint Barnabas in Livingston? I'm new to the area (everyone in my family was born at Valley in Ridgewood), so I'd like to see which hospital has a good maternity reputation so I can pick an OB/Gyn that delivers at that one.Thanks in advance!

    I have been a patient at Lifeline Medical on Morris Ave in Springfield for almost 17 years now. I have gone through 2 pregnancies with them and absolutly love the staff and doctors. Staff of 3 female dr and one midwife. You rotate amongst them all.

    I delivered both times at Overlook .. great hospital, once again very friendly staff.

    In a few weeks I'm starting my interviews with OBGYNs.  I'm looking at a large medical group that's affiliated with Overlook Hospital in Summit and a private practive of a father and daugter team in Cranford who came highly reccomended by posts.  I heard that Overlook has great anesthesiologists but if you are high risk people say that St. Barnabas is best in Livingston.  I would suggest going on a tour of each and seeing which one you like best, then find a doctor affiliated with that hospital because most aren't affiliated with both.

    My doc is part of West Essex OB/GYN practice in Livingston (about 5 minutes from St. Barnabas. There are 3 OBs and 1 GYN on staff. I've meet with all (GYN before I got pregnant and the 3 OBs since) and would highly recommend any of them. Their practice is affiliated with St. Barnabas thus I'll be delivering there. The hospital's L&D has a great reputation and is highly regarded in the medical community. A friend of mine just recently delivered her son there and had a very positive experience. I hope this helps.

    I use the daughter in the father/daughter in Cranford and very happy there.  I would recommend.  She is direct though, so if you are looking for a lot of coddling maybe not for you.

    I just switched to Summit Medical Group Dr. Simonetti in the Milburn office.  He was recommended by just about everyone at my old office.  So far I really like him.  He is proactive.  I use Dr. Kaufman for my DD but he left practice soon after she was born.  Dr. Simonetti delivers at either hospital but I am high risk and went to St. Bs last time to see their doctors so I will go back there again.
