3rd Trimester

Intense crotch pain, can BARELY walk!!!

If I seriously have to walk like this for the next 6 weeks i'm going to lock myself in a dark closet and cry! The crotch pain is getting to be unbearable. I can take alot of pain, but I can't even walk!!!

It seriously feels like my vaginal area went out for a run and has come back sore! There's definetly something going on down there, and it's killing me!!

Is it normal to have so much crotch pain at 34 weeks? To the point where you can't walk???

Also, for 2nd timers, when you started getting the crotch pain that bad how much longer did it take until you went into labor?

Re: Intense crotch pain, can BARELY walk!!!

  • i am having the same thing now. The baby is really low, and yesterday I almost fell over from the cervical pain and pressure. I am still having it on and off. Last time I felt like that the day before I went into labor....but I hear the second and third time you have a baby the pressure is more intense....

If yours doesnt go away by tomorrow afternoon, I would call your OB just to make sure--since you are only 34 wks.

    relax all day tomorrow.

  • We call that wonderful feeling "lightning crotch."  OMG I feel your pain and I'm so sorry.  If you're anything like I was my first pg, it will come and go.  Rest rest rest and a warm bath.

ETA: I dropped with DD around 35wks and I was induced at 39wks4days but was pretty much in early labor already...

  • I've had that problem since 30 weeks. I even have blood blisters from the pressure. It's pretty awful and sitting (especially while driving) makes it worse. I try to stand or lay down whenever I can to relieve the pressure and pain.

I feel your pain. It's definitely not easy to walk. I've had crotch and hip pain since 24 weeks. It sucks.
  • Mine was terrible with #2 from about 32 weeks on to the point that I had to stop working (I work on my feet, lifting patients).  I ended up separating my pubic symphysis and it was so painful that I could hardly walk around.  I had a heck of a time carrying my 2 year old around and getting up and down stairs.  I couldn't even lift my leg up to get dressed because I couldn't stand on one leg.  You just kind of learn to deal with it until it is over.  Luckily, most of the pain subsided immediately after I delivered.  As for recovering from the separate pubic symphysis, that too about a year of rehabing myself a the gym and I got back to about 90% of my strength, then got pregnant again and have been slowly declining.  However, knock on wood, the pain hasn't been quite so intense this time around even though I can feel my pubic bone slipping back and forth.  The baby doesn't seem to be sitting quite so heavy in my pelvis as it was last time around.

No advice, just sympathy. I've been dealing with crotch-area soreness for a few weeks now. My husband has to wake up to roll me over in bed at night and then push me out in the mornings! It's definitely not pleasant.
