Snow Cones in San Diego???

Ladies -

I really need your help. My only pregnancy craving right now is a very deep need for a snow cone. Not like the hard ones off the ice cream trucks. I mean like shaved ice you get from a stand. Do any of you know where I can find one in San Diego? I grew up in Arkansas where snow cone stands were like Starbucks - practically one on every corner. I have never seen one around these parts.

The only place I have seen snow cones is at Vejas outlet center but that was a while ago. you should call and see if they still have that kiosk

You might try looking for "raspados," which is the Mexican name for shaved ice with fruit flavor. I haven't been, but Yelp gives good reviews to Raspados Michoacan in National City. Hope this helps!

I was in Balboa Park this morning and saw a snow cone cart on the Prado, near the e-Kiosk that's close to the Fleet.

There's Island Style Cafe in Tierrasanta off of Santo Rd and the 52 that serves shaved ice!!! They're a Hawaiian restaurant that has yummy food too!

you can get them for sure every weekend at the Kobe's swapmeet in the sports arena parking lot. It only cost $1 to get in the swapmeet and the sno cones are reasonably priced. And you get to put your own syrup on, which is awesome!
