I have noticed a lot of posts about inductions and scheduled c-sections these days.
I am just curious what the reasons were behind them. Medical reasons? Breech? Overdue? Too Big? Other?
I am debating whether or not to ask to induce, and am wondering if I stand a chance with no medical reasons.
Re: For inductions or scheduled C-sections
My first pregnancy resulted in an emergency section because DS heart rate kept dropping. The (idiot) Dr who preformed the surgery cut me too deep and now i cant deliver naturally without risking me or the baby.
I'm overdue, but am also having a large baby. He's been measuring almost 2 weeks ahead in length since my 30 week appointment. My midwife wouldn't schedule the date for my induction until I was 10 days past my due date though.
I was induced with DS at 38w due to pre-e and his size (9lbs 5oz born 2 full weeks early.)
I will be induced on Monday with this baby (39w2d) due to her size (est. 8lbs at 35w) and complications after the birth of DS (mostly hemorrhaging.)

seriously? wow....
I'm being induced on Monday - I'll be 4 days overdue. My doc won't let you go past 41 weeks and it was the only day they had available to "put me on the books" next week. I'm not too happy about it so I am trying everything humanly possible to into labor.
I'm having a scheduled c-section 3 days before my due date. With DS, I ended up having a C-section because he wouldn't fit out. When the dr. did the c-section, he said that I have one of the smallest pelvises he'd ever seen and that I'd always have to have sections.
I was supposed to be induced with DS at 6 days past my due date b/c dr. said they don't let you go past 41 weeks but I ended up going into labor 3 days past my date.
My water broke with my first, but I didn't progress within 24 hours even with the maximum safe amount of pitocin so I had a c-section. This baby will be a scheduled c-section.
hmmmm... after reading these posts, I can see it will probably not be possible to have an induction without a justified medical reason.
Bummer to me.

For my first pregnancy I was induced due to pre e, my labor was slowly progressing and the Dr. said my pelvic bone was too small for natural birth so I had a C-section. With this pregnancy the I'm a Scheduled c because my pelvic bone and my Dr. didn't think a vbac was a good idea.
My due date is July 19th but due to my type one diabetes and high BP they have scheduled me for a C-Section on June 30th, which is 19 days before my actual due date. I will be 37 weeks 2 days. My first son was delivered via Emergency C-Section due to his heart rate dropping over a 6 hour period and he was born at 36 weeks 4 days.
