  • hahahahaha....absolutely not!!!  He looks like a big tough guy, but in reality he's the biggest baby!  He couldn't handle the aches and pains and would be the biggest whiner ever.  Great question!

  • No way! He is the biggest baby when he is sick...I don't even want to imagine him with m/s!
  • Definately :). He's a tough cookie lol. He's pretty strong minded, and not as big of a baby as I am. Honestly, if he could carry him instead of me.. I'm sure he would.

  • In our current situation, I'd say no.  He works a FT 3rd shift job, and a PT job a few days a week while I'm SAHW (ie. unemployed).

I'm not sure how he'd handle the puking, constant nightly visits to the bathroom, plus all the aches and pains that disrupt my sleep.  I'm not sure he'd be able to hold off on complaining as much as I have.  I don't think I'd want to see that.

  • NOOOOO! OMG, any minor injury is major to my DH. He tells everyone about it, carries on for weeks and weeks, ugh. Love him to pieces, but he's a tough guy baby!!!
  • NO, haha. He's a big baby. He'd be complaining constantly...I'm sure of it.
  • Yes, he's a trooper.
  • no.  he can barely handle a runny nose.

No.  He was questioning baby carriers because he said that carrying the baby in one "might hurt his back!"  I just looked at him and pointed to my big belly and said, "a baby in a carrier can be taken off if your back starts getting sore, I can't take this off and I have more than just a baby in there!!"  haha

  • Yes and no.

He is the biggest whiner about all the little stuff, or even big stuff once he acknowledges it, but is pretty strong minded when he chooses to be.

So I suspect for the first tri at least he would do nothing but complain, but at some point I think his will would take over and he would handle it.  Then probably start whining again at the end...

Ha- sounds like me these days though! =)  I'm done with all the little crap!

  • Nope - he can't handle a head cold, let alone growing a baby! I soooo wish he knew what it felt like though!

  • I think if it were the way of things and he HAD to, he could.  However, I think he's pretty grateful that is me and not him!  Stick out tongue

  • I think the only thing my DH couldn't handle is not having a beer for 9 months.

  • I would love to see it happen... lol!! that would be funny :)
  • HA! No, I love him but the man can't even handle a headache without getting moody.

No way! He's a Marine but the second he gets a mild cold it's like the end of the world. No one could possibly have a cold like him. Although he has been subjected to a lot of pain when he had rotator cuff surgery earlier this year but he got to take percocets.
  • lol this is a great question! I actually do think DF could handle it.

    LMAO!!?

  • HELLLL, no!  DH is a baby when he's sick, so I can imagine him going through all the other symptoms.  He's not convinced we'll have another one after this, because he hates seeing me sick and in pain.  If he had to do it himself- YIKES!

  • Um hell to the no. My dh couldnt be selfless for that long- or deal with the gestational diabetes, emotions, or anything really...
  • No! My DH is the biggest whiner there is and you know nothing is as bad for anyone else as it is for him.

  • NO!  He can't handle being sick with a minor head cold, there is no way he could handle being pregnant!

  • NO FREAKIN WAY!!!!!! He can't handle the flu or a 2 year old with a splinter!
  • JhawkCEJhawkCE member

He could  handle it.....as long as he didn't have to give up beer.

I have a feeling that I and the people at his work wouldn't like it so much though.  He is very grouchy when he doesn't feel well.  It's probably better for our  marriage if I handle the pregnancy.

  • LOL, sure. He's much tougher than me.

However, breastfeeding and getting up a million times with a newborn, not so sure. I think he underestimates the physical and emotional toll that takes on you. He's been doing overnight duty with our toddler whose been having nightmares and staying up for an hour or two in the middle of the night, and DH seems very exhausted by it.

  • I'm not going to be one to judge...after all, I don't think I am handling being pregnant very well.

  • What a great question!  I'm sure my hubby would be able it but don't think I'd be able to cope with it since I can only handle a few days of him being sick (which unfortunately is all the time)  So bad I know but its definitely better this way around!
  • I don't think he could handle our pregancy.  Bedrest is hard and he like to be doing something all the time.  I think if I had a "normal" pregancy he would be able to deal, he would just have a hard time giving up drinking.

  • NO WAY!!!  DH had some minor oral surgery a few months back (seriously, it was like a 30 min procedure, but he was put under general).  He was such a wussy and a cranky ass afterwards.  I got him soup, jello, pudding and ice cream and even cooked for him and he was just a mess!  He would NEVER survive a pregnancy!  Plus, giving up beer for 9 months would be quite a stretch for him  ;o)
  • hell no!

...he called in "sick" last week because "one side of his nose was stuffy." seriously... Tongue Tied

I don't think he'd handle having his period either... Indifferent
