Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Does your LO act different in public?

DS is very happy and smiley at home.  He laughs a lot and has a lot to say.  He's usually pretty chill, but definitely has a lot of personality.  When we are out in public, he is usually pretty quiet and not as smiley and people always comment on how chill and quiet he is.  I think he's just taking it all in, but it's just interesting that he's so reserved in public.  Anyone else's LO like this?

yes! dd has her "going out" behavior. she is very quiet and super well behaved in public. we just went to dinner at our friends place tonight and our friends were commenting on how good dd was and that if thats how easy babies are they should just go ahead and have one! LOL

  • Mine is opposite of yours.  At home, she is more short-tempered.  Never happy just hanging out, and always seems bored.  When we're out, though, she's an angel, and LOVES all the new things to look at.  Sometimes I think it's good that she can't talk, because if she could, all I'd hear is "I'm sick of our home, I'm sick of the same stuffed animals you hold in front of my face, get me the hell out of here so that I can finally look at something other than the same 4 walls."
  • Oh wait, I read your post wrong.  But yes, DD is totally more chill in public.

DS has everyone fooled.  In public he is such a good baby.  Everyone always says how good he is.  We went on a plane for the first time last week.  Both flights he fell asleep before the plane took off and woke up when it landed.  Everyone was just gushing about how good he was.

As soon as I walk in the door of our house, it all ends and he goes BSC.

  • DS is a bit shy in public. She is all smiles and giggles at home but she's pretty serious when we go out and about. Guess there is just too much new stuff to take in to waste energy on the laughter.
  • My baby is pretty much the same baby all the time.

She'll smile and flirt with anyone and is pretty clam and relaxed.

  • DS is still happy in public, but definitely more quiet. It's great when we go to the doctor's because while other babies are crying he's just sitting calmly on my knee people watching.
