How much water in sippy cup?

We are just getting around to introducing the sippy cup now.  Yikes.  I thought the pedi said to start by putting about an ounce of water in, but if I do that he has to literally tip it upside down to get it out and he certainly isn't able to do that yet.  How many ounces can they drink at this point?

    As much as he wants.  It is much easier to drink from the sippy when it is almost full, so best to start that way.  He probably won't drink more than an ounce or two.

    We fill it all the way because DD can't really get it out otherwise.  I don't have to fill it again during the day and I estimate she drinks 4-6 oz in a day.
