Pulse to determine pregnancy

So... I just had another acupuncture session. My acupuncturist has been treating for fertility issues for over 20 years with much success. He is great but the language barrier can be kind of annoying (he is an MD from China). Anywho... I was trying to explain to him that i'm 7 dpo and that I'm planning to take a pg test next week, but it is difficult to communicate with him. So he proceeds to tell me he is going to "check my pulse for pregnancy." So he feels for my pulse and tells me that he couldn't tell anything one way or the other. I was like "how can you tell if someone is pregnant from their pulse" and he laughed and said "experience. more than 20 years of experience."

Don't know what I think about that...

I have heard of uterine artery pulse being a possible early PG indiciator, but unless your accupuncturist has his had up you vag touching your ute, I don't think that is what he was talking about.

Eh, at least he said he couldn't tell. I do believe in that sort of stuff, if you know what you are doing. I mean, I couldn't tell, but maybe he really can? I don't put all my eggs in the "medical doctor" basket, so I like to think alternate forms of medicine are worthwhile in their own rights.

Ha! I can promise you that he most certainly did not!

Not sure how I feel about his little pulse trick, but luckily i'm not paying the guy to tell me if i'm pregnant or not (or to check my pulse)... i'll just let him keep sticking me with needles and enjoy the benefits of that. But I certainly found the pulse check to be amusing to say the least.

Acupuncturists do a lot with pulses. They check different pulse points and apparently it tells them different things. I don't know how it all works though. At one appointment, my acupuncturist checked my pulse on my right wrist and then on my left wrist before deciding what she was going to do that day.

I have no idea how they could tell pregnancy by a pulse, but I wouldn't discount the idea that they could.

What do I plan to do... or what will I probably end up doing? HA!! I would like to wait until Monday or Tuesday morning but I will probably try on Sunday.

Yep, acupuncturist did this yesterday and then proceeded to tell me she would try and figure out the gender (no luck on the latter). Fortunately they make these handy pee sticks to help you figure out if you're pregnant with a little more accuracy.

What's your plan?

I may actually test Saturday morning because I have a wedding that night (for which i'd like to partake in a little party time)... but it will be so super early obviously. So even if I test on Saturday it will almost certainly be a BFN. Then i'll probably test again on Mon or Tues? Depends on what my temps do. My LP is usually only 10 days... so I bet i'll test on Monday.

Yeah, mine depends on my temps. Although they are doing a weird stairstep pattern so I'm not sure I will be able to tell unless it makes a huge drop down... Ughhh I hope that doesn't happen!!
