The sweet old ladies at our church have offered to throw us a shower and it is next Friday (she called me yesterday to tell me lol).
Anyways, every time she asks about throwing us a shower she asks what we still need and I tell her each time we have a registry at Walmart & Target.
Each time she says, well we really just need a list of hwat you still need for the baby. And I tell her, the lists are at Walmart & Target but I'd be happy to print it off for her. Then she tells me 'Well, we just don't trust those things, so you need to make us a list.'
HAHA. I guess I'll print off the list and then type it out again myself? IDK really, I just think its funny that they are SO anti-registry list...That generation and their mistrust of technology..Wonder what we will 'not trust' some day?
Re: Older ladies and Church Shower - not vent, just funny
That is funny.
I'm betting though that a lot of those ladies either don't like or don't know how to use the registry system. They would also probably prefer to see "blankets" on your list and pick out which one on their own. It makes is more personal and fun for them to do. Remember, they aren't usually as busy so they take pride and enjoyment out of the whole process.
My aunt bought my Pack n Play off our registry at Target, but said she didn't know she was supposed to take the list to the counter when she paid for the item.... She's not that old - only 50 - and she has a Mac Notebook, iPod, etc., so it's not like she's freaked out by technology.
She said she couldn't figure out how to make it come off the registry and claims the girl at Target didn't know, either. Who doesn't know you're supposed to take the sheet to the register when you pay?
