Cleaning supplies

I sort of have a sick obsession with really good cleaning supplies, however I recently god rid of all the chemical cleaners in our home & am not impressed thus far with my replacements.  The seventh generation stuff works well, but the small makes me want to gag.  I also have a few things by method (laundry detergent & bathroom cleaner) which I do like but I don't find them very effective.  So I'd love to hear what brands you all recommend =)

Re: Cleaning supplies

  • I've read a lot about making your own.  Most use things like white vinegar (stinky when it's wet, but odorless once it's dry) and baking soda.  I just made a glass cleaner with 1 cup each of water and rubbing alcohol and 1 tbsp of white vinegar.  It worked really well!!

  • we're mainly using combos of baking soda, vinegar, and castile soap. I still buy toilet cleaner though. there is a pine type I like... I think it is ecover but I've tried other 'natural' brands too and have liked them. I've found that the natural cleaning supplies in most big chains suck, but if I go to local places or the really green stores they are much more effective.
