3rd Trimester

Anyone daydreaming of Disney trips yet?

I am!  I think we'll wait until he's 3 years old, and I know that's a long ways away, but we want to go with the whole family so we'd be renting a house or something in FL.  And if we don't decide to do Disney, maybe another location or resort, just daydreaming!  :)

Re: Anyone daydreaming of Disney trips yet?

  • I totally am! I didn't go to Disney until I was 9 or 10 and I wish I could have gone when I was younger. I think 3 or 4 is a good age for the first Disney trip, I want to go now!

  • I had a Disney Land Pass for 7 years when I lived in So Cal.  That, coupled with the fact that I have not been in 3+ years since I moved to Northern California.....makes me think I'm taking the baby when she's 1 year old.  :)

I used to live 10 minutes away from Disneyland.  Now I live about 6 hours away from Disneyland and I want to go so badly!  In fact, I used to work at Disneyland while in college.  :)

I can't wait to bring my LO.  Disneyland has southern CA deals so I'll probably have my parents or friends from down there buy us the tickets so we can get a deal (and give them the cash when we get there).  Tickets are EXPENSIVE!   My parents live about 2 hours away from Disneyland so I'm sure they'll want to come too.  I love Disneyland!

My parents live in Orlando so, Kate will be making her first visit to Magic Kingdom in December.

I'm sure we will be going 2+ times a year.

  • We took DD last May when she was just over 2.  She LOVED it!  If she had her way she'd go every other week.  :)  We're going again in 2012 and this baby will be almost 2 (if we go in May) or a bit over 2 (if we go in October)

We stayed in a condo and will do that again when we go in 2012.  It was SO much fun!

  • :Raises hand:

I half-jokingly told DH that for my 30th b-day I wanted a trip to Disney World or a baby. Obviously, I'm happy the gift  will be our LO, but I'm still chomping at the bit for that trip! Looks like it will be at least a few years, though...

  • I wanna go to Disney World for my honeymoon in a year :P lol. I'm just big kid myself... lol. I am going to wait to take LO when she is more like 8 or 9. I have been twice, once when I was 4 and once when I was 8. Disney World was a lot more fun at 8 than 4. When they are that little they can't really ride any rides or do too much, once I was a little bigger I could ride everything and I had a blast! Disney World hasn't changed much since I went there last, so I'm just going to stick with what I know. I mean it's only been 12 years since I went last lol.

  • My sister and BIL both work for Disney and get a ton of free tickets so we're taking LO a lot once he is here. Only at 25 min drive for us. Love it!

  • We bring DD to Disneyland several times a year. We have brought her for all 3 birthdays as well. I turn 30 in November, so DH promised me we can go to Disney World since we have never been. I am so excited!! My parents and BIL/SIL are coming along as well! SIL is from Ft. Lauderdale, so it should be an awesome trip. Jake will only be a couple months old, but the weather in November should be less intense, right? Fingers crossed!

  • I am but my dream is different than most of yours, most likely.
I live 15 minutes from DIsney & I am a season pass holder we usually go weekly but since I have been PG I can't really do all of the walking around & the heat kills me too.
I still try to go but usually end up regretting it :O(
I may be braving it this wekend for Star Wars weekends
I am day dreaming of walking around Epcot with the baby & my other mommy friends a few days a week once DS is back in school.

  • Not me. My ILs are obsessed with Disney, and they want us to take a trip down to Disney with them when LO is 6 months old. I already put the kibosh on that -- he'll be too young to enjoy anything, and I think we'll be too tired/busy taking care of him to enjoy ourselves either!

My parents live 2.5 hours from Orlando, so I'm sure there will be a lot of family trips to Disney in our future.

  • YES YES YES!!! That was one of the first things I got excited about when I found out about my little man! I'm thinking of taking him around 5-7 years old so he'll be old enough to remember. And then maybe every 2-3 years after that if he wants. :) I love Disney World so I wish I could take him now. lol

  • Wow!  I'm impressed with how many people are from Florida and go there often - so jealous!  :)  We're thinking to go in October for Mickey's not so scary Halloween party!  I bet it's probably already booking for 2013!  I better go check!

OMG sooo cute!!!  Wait, do Mommy's get to join in too?  LOL

  • YES!!!!!!!  We're going to wait until Noah is 3 or 4 before we go down with him.  The whole family is planning it, though.  Even my step-dad who never once cared about DIsney is excited to go.

DH and I are going to fly down to Orlando when Noah is old enough to be away from us for a few days so we can the new Harry Potter park and the rest of Universal Studios.

  • My MIL and SIl both work for Disney so they can sign us into Disneyland whenever we want. I have a feeling we'll be taking the baby when she is 6 months old since we will be home at that time, even though I'd like to wait until she can actually understand it and enjoy it.

  • We took DD at 6 months old and she loved it, and so did we.  It was a chance to slow down and really take everything in.  She went on all of the rides with us (minus the height-restricted ones), and DH & I just did Rider Swap when she couldn't.  She cooed and smiled at things like It's a Small World and the Pooh ride.  I wore her in the Moby and she slept most of the time we walked around.  It was super easy.

We were supposed to go last week, but I couldn't due to some PTL scares.

We rescheduled for December.  DD will be almost 2.5 and DS will be 5 months.  I can't wait.  They might not remember it, but it is worth every penny for ME to remember their eyes lighting up and the excitement they have at the time.
