the last 3 days i've noticed the tips of my middle and ring finger of my right hand feel like they're asleep - that numb/tingling feeling. the first day i noticed it after finishing up knitting a teeny tiny hat so thought i was just holding the needles to tight for those final decreases.
but yesterday i noticed it just sitting and not using my hands for anything. i tried changing positions, shaking my hands, anything i can think of but nothing helped. it did eventually go away last night but seems to be back now though not quite as bad.
what's up with this?? would you be concerned? i have had swelling in my wrists/hands in the last weeks - maybe this is a side effect? just weird it's only the very tips of those two specific fingers..
Re: tingling/numbness in tips of fingers?
That is what I was going to say. I had little bits and pieces of it on my left hand from the first few weeks with Bruce but not really at all this time. I think becuase I am not working at a computer all day long it has been better.
Ditto this. Mine started early with DD and I ended up sleeping in wrist braces to alleviate it during the day. It helped.
thanks ladies! i do have a hard time - especially when laying down at night trying to sleep - keeping my arms from going numb.. i wondered about the carpal tunnel but it seemed odd to be just that hand and just those two fingers and JUST the very tips of them! lol.. though i guess they are my two longest fingers now that i look at them.
so yeah - you really get into all the awesome pregnancy side-effects towards the end huh?? :-D

Wear a carpal tunnel brace while you sleep (one that bends your wrist back) and that can help. And what my dr told me was the carpal nerve affects only your thumb, first finger, middle finger, and HALF of your ring finger. the other half of that finger and your pinky are controlled by the same nerve as your "funny bone".
