Sorry if I keep asking stupid questions... sometimes I feel so dumb and clueless about this stuff, and it's nice to have real people answer my questions instead of Dr. Google - who freaks me out :-P
Aaaaanyway.
In your experience with Provera, how often have you gotten AF right away (like, within days of taking the first few pills) and how often have you gotten it right after you stopped taking the pills, and how often has it been 10+ days after you stopped taking them?
(Background: waiting for AF to show up to do my testing, the RE offered to give it to me last week but we're going to be out of town from this Sunday-the following Sunday and we didn't want me to get AF while I'm out of town and screw up the timing. I'm wondering if I started Provera this week, or even Sunday/Monday of next week, if I'd get AF while I was on vacation. I'd wait for it to come naturally, but at this point I'm showing no signs of having O'ed, or O approaching - which means this cycle could be longer than 60 days.)
If we're TTA, is there any reason why they wouldn't give me Provera two cycles in a row? (My cycles are running 60 days these days, right now it's CD 42... I'm sick of this crap!)
Re: Some questions about Provera
I have taken it 4 times and it always takes longer than 7 days, usually more like 10 days for AF to arrive.
I think they would give it to you 2 months in a row, I'm pretty sure Carrie and Kristy both take it every month, but I might be wrong.
Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle!
April 2011 CP @ 5 weeks
When I took it 7 weeks after my D&C ... I took it for 10 days and got AF 4 days after my last pill..
Good luck!
this won't be helpful to you - but Provera didn't work for me. didn't bring back AF for me after 2nd m/c
I do hope it works for you though!
I've taken it several times. I can't remember exactly how many. I've had it take as little as 2-3 days and as long as 12-13 days. (after taking my last pill).
My doctor would give me Provera every cycle that I didn't get my period. When I take Clomid, I get my period. Without, I need Provera.
