  • No, we don't have the room. But I'm going to buy him a shed for Father's Day and let him have that for his man-space. lol And no I wouldn't go in it.

  • He took over the garage when he moved in before we were married. We only have a one car garage with our condo.  First, it was just extra boxes of stuff, then he pulled out all his woodworking stuff to make gifts for our wedding party and it's been out ever since.  Then, he started playing hockey and is a goalie- the pads take up so much room!! Even though we've gone through all the boxes and gotten rid of a ton of stuff, my poor car sits out in the elements because of his woodworking stuff.  :(  I have to get on him every several months to clean up so I can get to our freezer....he promises me he'll make shelves and stuff so I can park in there again.  I think I'll wait until hell freezes over for that.  I'm still waiting for my wooden trash can to be made....

No but I wish he did. His drums are sitting in the living room and it drives me crazy. He needs a place for his desk and all his mess also. Maybe in our next house he will have a man cave and no I won't go in it.

  • Just his garage.

  • No, neither one of us really get the whole "man cave" concept. I don't have a room that's just for me, and neither does he. However, once we finish the basement, it will have all his Notre Dame stuff in there.
  • My DH used to until the baby came along.  His man cave was our garage which was converted to a master suite and now each girl has their own bedroom and bathroom.

I wish he still did though.  He really enjoyed it.

This exactly.  Otherwise, I rarely go down there.  Everything I need (except the washer and dryer) are on the first and second floors.

  • No, we are finishing the basement and he will have his "area" down there, but we're putting in a play area and a guest bedroom, so he'll have to keep it less disgusting than he'd normally be inclined to.

  • He does, it's a movie theatre but we all kinda hang out in there. He picked the paint, art & furniture with my approval. I am glad he has that space for all his video game stuff and movies but we do all hang out in there. On the flip side I have a "craft room/office" that is twice the size of his room. :)

I have two logins for some reason. That is me too. Gotta figure out how to delete it.

  • Yes he does- in our basement.  I got tired of tripping over all his RockBand gear so I was thrilled when he decided to finish our basement.  Plus I got a nicer laundry room out of the deal.  I go down there every once in a while mostly because Eva wants to visit him when he's playing his video games or if we have company over and we're playing poker (he has a poker table down there).

  • When I was pregnant we finished off half of our basement to make a large office.  He has a TV and Xbox, his computers, and surround sound for music.  It is definitely his cave, but it is also our shared office.  So I go in there when I have bills to pay or need to use my desktop computer.

  • No but he wants one really bad.  Well actually our office is considered his room to do what he wants in, but I have a desk in here so he doesn't count it as his cave.  We don't have a basement and almost every other room is dedicated so he probably won't have one for awhile.  We will have a bonus room upstairs in our new house where he will put up a giant flat screen TV and speaker system so that will have to suffice.

Yes, and yes I go down there. Usually when boys are asleep and we want to watch tv. The couch is more comfy down there and bigger. My DH is neater than me though so I know he keeps it neat.

do you have pic's of your space?  I love craft rooms!

oh and no, dh doesn't have a man cave but he does have 1/2 of the unfinished bsmt for tools and a desk.  I wish that he had a real one.

When we move, we'll both have a room to ourselves. lol I'm getting a craft room and he's getting the garage. Unless we find something larger, then he'll get an office.

  • the basement is pretty much his--that is where we joke that he will live someday---me, the kids and both dogs will be upstairs.  we'll see him for meals and to do laundry :)   his big tv, computer etc are down there.   although our daughter hangs out a lot with him down there.

Yes, he has one.  It also serves as our guest bedroom.  Yep, I go in it---mostly to fold laundry.

Yes, and thankfully it's over at IL's, lol.  We haven't had time to build our shed/shop here yet so DH works on the trucks over at IL's (half a mile away).  I go there when I need to, but it's a disaster there so I'm all too happy to leave :)

  • DH uses the basement. I go down there. Our basement is more of a storage area, so it's not the neatest, but I'm not afraid to go! LOL!

  • DH has his office set up in one of the rooms in the basement.  My desk is in a corner, but I rarely use it.  I do go in there to talk to him occasionally, but I make no comments on the mess.  The room is pretty much completely his.

Until recently he had the whole basement to himself (except for the laundry room).  But we have begun remodeling the main living space down there to turn it into a play/family room.  Once that's done the majority of DD's toys will get moved down there and we will spend most of our time there.  But his office door will be closed and she won't be allowed in there, it's a toddler death trap.

  • yep!  it's a huge garage/building in our backyard.  I never go in there...  too far to walk to it... lol!  it's one the main reasons he bought this house.

  • Yep he does have one in the basement and I go in it at will.  It's a mess BUT I don't mind it because it is one area of the house I am not responsible for one bit.
