those that use a BG w/o insert as a swim diaper

We are going on vacation in mid June and I am considering using our BG diapers instead of buying a bazillion little swimmers diapers.  I think we will probably be in the pool at least twice a day and once at the beach, so we will need a nice stash of sposie swim diapers, or just use our BG diapers.  We at one time used BG part time and I have a small stash of BG 3.0 diapers.  I have nothing against CD, but it just wan't for me, so the BG are just collecting dust in the closet.  So, my question is, do I just use the diaper w/o the insert?  Would you recommend doing this instead of buying a specific CD swim diaper?

I just want to make sure we won't have a major poo explosion at the beach/pool.

    If you don't regularly use your BGs there is no reason to buy specific cloth swim diapers.  There is a chance that over time using the BGs in chlorine could reduce everyday effectiveness but that should never be a problem for you.  I just use the BG with no insert and it has worked fine so far.  I also use just one specific dipe so I don't chance ruining more than one.  Have fun on vacation, sounds lovely!
