This nursery is the coolest design I've ever seen!! You both get serious points for all the creative genius that came up with the idea and then to put it all together like one humungous jigsaw puzzle! That is freaking fantastic! I am sooooo jealous - I loved Mario as a kid - still do! I agree with the OP who think that babies really don't have any idea what bullets and crazy plants are - they just like bright colors! I also agree with what you said - we decorate the nursery with what we like - my daughter is 5 months and she pretty much could care less about the ladybugs on her walls - her favorite toy is a plain cream colored teddy bear my little brother got her - go figure!
I don't mind being the dissenting opinion here- but how do you expect your kid to sleep? lol- WAY too much going on in there.
yes its cute and origional- but definitely not sleep endusing.
What? are you seriously saying her LO wont be able to sleep because there is too much to look at on the walls?
right- because having bullets headed towards the crib and pipes with plant eating are calm and soothing.
yes its cool and origional- just saying- it would be better suited for a play room- not a nursery.
Well good thing it's not your nursery then huh?
I think it's awesome and when I told DH how you guys did it he got all excited and wants to do something like that now if we have a boy. lol Very cool idea!
"From birth until 6 months old, surround babies with lots of patterns. Stripes, checks, anything in stark black and white will be best. Find patterns on the internet, print them off, and hang them on the wall near the changing table or crib", This was taken from 'What to Expect When You are Expecting.
I think that this room is extremely conducive to baby's development and if a baby can fall asleep in the stroller while walking around a grocery store, mall, park, etc. then they can fall asleep anywhere. Congrats on the finished room...I absolutely LOVE it!!

I think it's awesome!! What's great about it is even as he gets older, it's still going to be a cool design so it's not something so babyish that you'll have to change it right away. We're going with a sports theme ourselves but if I had the creativity and energy to come up with an idea like this, I definitely would have gone with it!
I think it's great that you went with something different...and who says that every nursery has to look the same? It's supposed to be something fun and I never heard of anyone saying "Make sure your nursery is boring blue with nothing on the walls so the baby will sleep." Pretty sure the room's going to be dark anyway when the baby's sleeping...During the day, the walls will be great to stimulate the baby because there will be so much to look at!
your nursery rocks. I am married to a gamer/geek and he want this room for himself... scratch the future nursery...lol
I saw you posted DH printed this himself. Can you elaborate more I am very interested.. My sister is having a baby boy in August 2010
TIA

What specific questions do you have? We used Rasterbator (a free online program) to blow the images up, then we printed all the pages on a high-quality laser printer (at our sister's office). It took a LONG time to print all of it because the file sizes were so huge (in fact, Kinko's couldn't even print them because the file sizes were so large their computers couldn't load them).
Sorry for those of you that can't see the pictures... not sure why that's happening. But here's a link to another site where our room is posted:
Awesome decor- the part I love best is that you and your DH put your hearts into it and spent so much time and effort for you LO! I think any/every way to get dads excited and included in the pregnancy is great!
I made a desk lamp for my sons room because I just couldn't find anyhting decent for less than $80.00. It was so fun and I am very proud of the finished product! My husband is also very proud an anouncew it to everyone whenever they walk in the nursery...he did the electrical bit We also bought little wooden puzzle like things from a craft store for $2 each and me,DH, and MIL soent one night assembling them so now he has three hand made decorations for his room; one car, one plane, and one train...Fun stuff!
I get really dissapointed when I get on these threads and see women attacking each other. Isn't the point of these threads to uplift each other? C'mon, women. Quit being so catty. Take what each other says with a grain of salt and move on. I don't think i will be taking part in these threads ever (this was my first post)

Sounds like someone is Jealous of a really creative idea.
Yea cause babies know all about what bullets are and that the scary plants in Super Mario are dangerous! I totally agree that someone sounds jealous.....it's a very creative idea to go with that theme, one that I've definitely never seen or heard of. I will never understand why ppl just HAVE to be negative because clearly, stacy, you didnt HAVE to say anything. Its NOT your child sleeping in the room and do u really expect that after hearing your opinion, they will change their nursery?? lol...So its really pointless except just to express through the lines that you wish you were as creative. This is a support site....if you don't have supportive words to say, then just keep them to yourself ESPECIALLY if your response doesn't even make any sense!

StacyC is not hating - when you post something in a public forum you have to be open to all kinds of opinions - she did say she liked it, but in her opinion it was better for a playroom - that's that!
On my end I thint it is super creative, and beautiful, fun, and definitely sure any boy (or even a video loving girl) would love a room like this. Best wishes for you and your family!!
Re: XP: Carson's Mario World Nursery PIP
For those who aren't as creative or don't have the time...
www.whatisblik.com has a TON of great decals, including mario bros for sale. They even have a choice between the new and the old version.
