Did we already discuss the 8 yr olds doing Single Ladies?

Discussed on 6-12. I just watched the video my first thought was, "I wish I drop my ass like that" which is not what your supposed to be thinking watching 8 year olds dancing.  Thoughts?

  • I think there was a post on this awhile back. I think they went too far but some of the comments on YouTube are way worse than warrants. Come on, they are 8 years old, there is no need to be calling them W***** and stuff. Some people are so rediculous.

  • I didn't read the youtube comments but I agree you shouldn't be directing those kinds of comments at children.

The people to blame for this are adults.

My opinion is great little group of dancers what a shame the choreographer didn't make the performance fun and upbeat to show off their skills rather than skanky and, I'm guessing, uncomfortable for any decent male in the audience.

I give the serious side-eye to the parents who let their daughters dance those move sin those costumes as well.

  • Wow.  I think it's sad that the little girls' obvious talent is undermined by the fact that they had little guidance from an adult with any common sense.   My husband would flip the eff out if our daughter was wearing that and gyrating on stage, no matter how old she was.
"Cool as Hell like e-mail, but still timeless like a letter."
  • I saw a couple of the parents being interviewed, and they seemed like intelligent people, oddly enough. The mother said the girls had never seen the Beyonce video and that they got the idea from Alvin and the Chipmunks, the Squeaquel (sp?)

Someone pointed out that Beyonce and her backup dancers were more covered than these little girls, and so were the chipmunks, BTW. Wink

I think it's disgusting, and obviously the parents' fault. Those girls are talented, and their parents have failed them.

  • My friend is a dancer and sent me a link a month or so ago that I think features three of them and is also way too much for their age.  The girls are really good but come on now where is this kind of dancing going to take them? Here is the link.  So the parents can say what they want about the movie but this was not their first video

  • Wow!  Poor choices from parents/coaches!  If DD wanted to be in dance, I would allow her to, but I would make sure that the costumes were age appropriate, and the dances/music choices were appropriate as well.  I also would not allow her to cake on on all the makeup that many dancers wear. Dance is a fun activity, but it seems as though a lot of dance groups really try to push the boundary when it comes to costumes and makeup.
