Gift when LO was born

My good friend is about to have her LO and we wanted to get her a gift for her and the baby. My mind is blank on something for her. I got flowers when DS was born, which were beautiful  but a pain to bring home. What were your favorite gifts that you received when your LO was born?

    My Mom gave me the option of flowers or a gift card. I actually loved getting the gift card.  Came in handy for all the diapers or other stuff I needed later.  That way I can get what I want.

    A gift certificate to one of those paint your own pottery places to have LO's hand and foot impressions made.  I love looking at that little hand and foot even now!

    A close friend gave me a gift card to Old Navy so I could get some inexpensive non-maternity clothes in an in-between size to have until I fit back into my pre-preg clothes. It was great, and I really did feel better (it was especially handy since I had an unplanned c/s, and my maternity pants bothered my incision site so I couldn't wear them anyway).

    Our group of friends brought us dinner for a week. That was great. If you could arrange to bring dinner for a couple nights I think that would be awesome.

    Maybe a little care package, with maxi-pads, coffee, snacks.  Or someone brought me a tray of deli sandwiches which was great because I was home and no time to eat of plan waht to eat so to grab a sandwich was awesome!

    My sister has 4 kids (and plans on more).  When her first was born, I bought her a charm bracelet and charms with his initials.  For each subsequent baby, I get her the charms with the initials for that baby.  She loves it and the kids know to be careful with her "Mommy Bracelet".
