I am nowhere close to a gardener... but I can eat up some tomatoes. Is it too late in the year to plant some? Is there any EF factor to the topsy turvy?

Absolutely not too late! Not sure where you are located but I just put my tomatoes in the ground last night. It was too early before now. Tomatoes are a later crop in most area if you're planting from seedlings (as opposed to directly from seed).

Here's a good site that will show you the zones and gives a planting guide for your zone. https://thevegetablegarden.info/resources/planting-schedules
