When I left H I ended up leaving WV and getting my own place in PA. I'm only about an hour and a half or less away from where H lives since we live basically on the state line. I've heard that crossing state lines can sometimes cause problems and jeopardize the custody and such. I didn't have much of a choice since it was all I could find that I could afford and it's not like I went hundreds of miles away. Anyone have any experience with this? Did it weigh anything in X's favor?
For what it's worth I will without a doubt be the one filing for divorce/custody etc since H cheated and will do anything he could to prevent the word from getting out. By filing for divorce the situation would be revealed to those he has to work with every day. (especially if I have the papers served through the sheriff department - his own coworker would serve him the papers. HAHAHAHA)
Re: I left the state, anyone done this?
This.
I'm not sure how long you've lived in PA, but you have to be there six months to meet the residency requirements to file there.
