Yes it's safe...noise wise. I am required to shoot every other month for my job and when I got pregnant my doc said no more, due to the lead in the ammunition...she said that the levels I would be exposed to were probably ok, but just to be on the safe side she didn't want me qualifying.
If you're worried about it...just don't handle any ammunition.
I wanted to go with my DH also and he said he didn't think the lead would be good for me to be around. I'd rather just play it safe throughout this pregnancy.
NOT totally safe! The lead exposure alone is not something you would want to expose your baby to. It might not be much, but it doesn't take much when they are that little! It's fine if your DH wants to go but if I were you I'd stay home.... and don't handle his clothes when he gets home - have him put them in the wash so you don't handle his clothes, which will have lead residue on them.

Like PP said, the noise is fine. If it's an outdoor range, you shouldn't have a problem with the lead. If it's an indoor range, it may be a little too much lead exposure.

Thanks ladies!
I was leaning towards staying home, but its good to know about the lead in the ammo - I didn't even think about that!
