Having tons of weird pains...

I am 19 weeks pregnant and think I am driving my OBs office crazy. I started having BH 2 weeks ago, which freaked me out so I called and they told me to come in because I could have a UTI. (I was fine) Then a few days later, I had a painful BH that woke me up from sleep, then some painful cramping after, in the middle of the night, so I called the Dr and they had me go into L&D overnight and all was well. I called one other time for some bad cramping pain in the middle of the night for reassurance, and then last pm, I had aching with intermittent sharp pains that lasted for over an hour and kept me awake. It finally went away, but I called them today to see if it was something to worry about. I think they are going to kill me. But really, I don't know what is normal, and if you look it up in books, they say to call the Dr. when these things happen. Anyone else having these weird pains, or bothering the Dr.'s office alot? I don't want to annoy the Dr. but I want reassurance that what I am feeling is normal.

Re: Having tons of weird pains...

  • Definitely call your Dr whenever you need to- that is what they are there for .... and remember -- THEY work for YOU!

On a side note - I had sharp pains too, and my OB said it was gas related. Sure enough, it was. Could that be it?? I got cramping from it, too.

  • Yep-- call away. That's their job and especially with the first pregnancy you don't know what to expect. I've called a bunch of times-- I figure I don't want the one thing I don't call about be the thing that I should have called about. If they get annoyed, well, too bad. You and your baby's health is worth a little annoyance (although if they do act short with you, I think that's pretty unprofessional).
