These little girls are only seven years old and people are arguing over COSTUMES... they need to be arguing over who in the heck let these baby girls do this.
Re: All I can say is WOW...
Some grown person taught them to do that! That's the crazy part.

No way.... OMG. I cannot believe parents were okay with that. If my girl were on a dance team and that is what they were wearing and that is how they were dancing, she'd be pulled.
Come on now people!
The sad part is that these girls will probably be dancing in music videos in 10 years. And who are we to blame? The moms and dads cheering them on in the audience!
What ever happened to tutu's ?
That video made me sick to my stomach. What is WRONG with people?!
**Lurking**
I don't even know what to think. My little girl will not be allowed to dance like that when she is only 7 and she will not wear that risque of an outfit/costume either. I don't understand how those parents let them do that. If my daughter wants to dance when she is older, I'm not going to let her participate in a dance like that. Wow

I agree that the song, routine, and outfits all go well together... but none of it should go with 7 year old girls. The girls did a good job, but their role models need to do their job to make sure that their girls do a good job at something that is appropriate.

No my little girl would not wear that or dane like that to music like that. What the hell were these parents thinking? I'm not sure how many of you have heard of a store called Libby Lu...I don't think they are open anymore, but their thing was to "dress-up" little girls(5-10ish) is these very whoreish outfitts and let them dance in the window or in front of the store like strippers. I HATED that store and like to have had a stroke when my aunt let my 6yr old cousin shop there...she did not do the dressing up...but still gave the store her money.
OMG seriously! The little girls that went to Libby Lu for parties ALL came out looking like miniature prostitutes. And not even the classy kind. I'm talking Whore-On-The-Corner.
none. I hate those pageants. they make me sad. ?

Yes, but the glitz ones are far more popular. To each their own!

I'm sorry but that is just awful! I've never approved of any of the dance teams/clubs etc. even growing up myself! Too much make up, too tight/small clothes and in front of any and everybody to see! It wasn't appropriate to me when I was young and it isn't now. Also, I found it so coincidental that those same girls I grew up with that were in those types of classes, were the same ones that became close to being the school whores or girls that were easy in highschool.
Not saying every girl who is in dance are like that or will become promiscuous, but the majority in my school were....tsk, tsk for those who thought that video was completely fine for those girls to do....
You took the words right out of my mouth!!!! OMG this is so wrong my DD is 5 and over my dead body would I EVER let her do anything like that!!!!!
That's horrible.
This is much better:

I'm going to start off by saying those girls are AWESOME dancers, I hope with talent like that they get far in the entertainment industry...
...not the rap video industry, not the stripping industry, but maybe choreographing/performing in live concerts, award shows, broadway, ect.
Those costumes are completely inappropriate and the choreographer could have de-sexualized most of those moves all while keeping the intensity of the performance. No need to be bending over and shaking their tush or pointing to their chest! Like a pp said, that video is a pedophiles dream....I bet their parents are the same as pageant parents, they don't care what their kid has to do to make it to the top!
The girls certainly look like they were having fun, but it's a damn shame their parents allowed costumes and moves that risque.
I agree they are great dancers, but don't you think the booty shaking and all the "pumping motions" were a bit much? I just personally wouldn't be too pleased if my daughter were doing that kind of dancing.
Holy crap can they dance...but their costumes are totally not ok with me. Some of the dance moves are also a little "advanced" for their age category.
Now, Im far from conservative and Ive been a dancer for many years as well as a dance teacher for a few of those years and there is no way in hell I'd allow my daughter or any of the kids that I taught to get up on stage in those costumes and move like that. Yes, their formation and choreography was quite impressive but that was way to much bare skin and a whole lotta thrusting for a bunch of baby girls!!
They were amazing dancers but if I had a daughter I would have had a fit if I saw her moving around like that! No bueno...
Awesome dancers, but agree w/ PP that they needed to desexualize the routine and costumes.
Was anyone else reminded of Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine? Her "Super Freak" routine.... lol.
Actually, about 2 yrs ago, I ran a Club Libby Lu and yea, i hated the "rock star"costumes bc they were a little too much but most of the time, the girls wore little fairy costumes. As for the dancing, there was never any gyrating or anything sexy about it. It was hannah montana songs and the chicken dance. Mostly clapping and twirling, so im not sure what Club Libby Lu was around you, but the 2 stores I ran werent like that at all. Ive never seen any "stripper like" dances at any of the stores and frankly has no relation to this dance thing with these little girls. IMO
I took dance classes from the age of 5-18. My mom would only let me dance at a studio where our costumes would cover our bellies. And in my high school dance club, the rules were no back, boob, or belly showing for competitions or else you would be disqualified.
These girls look a little older than seven to me, but regardless of age that is ridiculous. What breaks my heart is that they are pretty talented little kiddos and that is how they are being told to display their talent. There parents need their heads examined.
That is exactly what I said when I was telling DH about this video. I would have no idea how to react if I went to my little girl's dance recital and that's how she was dancing.
