I would feel blessed to become pregnant with a healthy baby, regardless of the sex. I know many ladies on here have been TTGP for months/years and may not even want to consider this question. I was just wondering if any of you are considering using a method that may favor one sex over the other?
Re: Anyone consider Shettle's method for sex of baby?
At the end of the day all I want is a healthy baby to bring home, regardless of its sex.
From what I understand, to have a girl you should BD 2.5-3 days before ovulation. Supposedly girl sperm live longer and by the time you ovulate the Y sperm will no longer be around. If you want a boy you should BD closer to ovulation. They swim faster. It also mentions changes in your diet. Acidic foods favor X sperm.
From what I hear, there is a lot more to Shettles than just the days you have sex.
O good Lord. As if we didn't have to jump through fire hoops as it is!

Why would it even matter, honestly? If you only want to have one gender of baby, why get pregnant? You never know if it's going to work and if it doesn't and you wanted a boy, and get a girl... then what? This is IMO.
We're not finding out the gender when we get pregnant so this doesn't really mean anything to me personally.
A healthy and happy baby is all I will ask for.
I've thought about it and asked syn if he was interested in me doing more research on it and he said "whatever happens happens" So I ended my research.
Depending on what we are blessed with first I can't 100% say that I may not attempt a method to have a child of the opposite sex the next go round.
The reason I actually brought it up to him was because a couple years ago I remember him saying if we don't have a boy first we will have to keep trying until we get one. I think that has just stuck in my head and I really know how badly he would like to have a boy.
edit: just wanted to make sure that it is known that the comment was completely a joke when he said it...but i still feel like there may have been some truth behind the statement.

Very true. I do know of a friend who has had 4 girls and is considering trying this method for her 5th in an attempt to get her boy.
We aren't either

LOL! She definitely would...

That's so awesome! I think less and less people do that and I love hearing when people are. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's wrong to know but it's fun not to.
My husband says that now too. I think it's a macho thing. I think once we see how much goes into parenthood, we will both re-consider the ideal # or sex of our children.
We plan on being team green as well!

I agree! Even as we have gotten closer to trying I have seen a change. I know for a fact he honestly doesn't care either way he even suggested no genetics testing/scans (very brief discussion) because he feels that whatever we are blessed with is meant to be.
