What does your toddler boy sleep in?

We CD, and DS sleeps in pajama shorts and t-shirt.  Alot of mornings, his shorts smell bad of pee where they've creeped up inside his diaper and wicked.  We don't have this problem in the winter when he wears pants.  Does this happen to anyone else?  I thought maybe his shorts were too small, but even after getting bigger ones it still happens.

I've thought about just letting him sleep in his diaper, but we use velcro and I'm afraid it will get snagged on his blanket or something and he'll end up pulling it off.  We don't have any diapers with snaps and buying them isn't an option.  Besides, I LIKE my velcro. Wink

  • DS sleeps in fleece pj's - we haven't had any issues with wicking.  My DS would take off his diaper most likely if he was left just w/ the diaper and a shirt.  As it is, since he undoes some of his jammies on occasion, we put a wool cover over his pocket diaper on nights when he's looking like he's feeling the urge to strip.  That may be a solution for you - wool shorties & a top?

Oh my.  I think he would die of heat exhaustion.  I should have mentioned that DS is a 30 lb furnace.

Wool shorties might work, hadn't thought about that.  And fleece would work too right?  Is fleece hot?  Seriously, the kid could start a fire in his sleep.

  • I think the fleece will be a bit warmer than the wool, as it's not as breathable, but, I really couldn't say for sure.

  • What about a short-sleeved onesie?  DS is still in footies jammas because it's still pretty chilly here, but in the summer I plan to do a onesie so he can't take his diaper off.

  • What about shortie one-piece rompers? sorta like this. We had similar issues last summer, and onsies would wick in the leg areas... but short rompers were perfect.

Interesting.  That might work too.  I didn't realize they made those for toddlers.  I might have to try those.  Maybe a few of those and some woolies would get us by.
