2nd Trimester

Spider Bites or Acne

My face is starting to look like I'm in puberty again. At first I thought a spider was nibbling on me in the middle of the night, but now I'm thinking its acne.

I'm getting a bonafide zit once a week, but have constant little red spots splattered around my cheek bones.

Sigh. Anyone else having this problem? And how are you treating it? Have you found any skin care or make up products that work? I'm thinking I might just have to suck it up and deal with the hormonal effects on my skin.

Oh, and does anyone know if it goes away after delivery? My MIL noticed and said ('cause she always knows the right things to say) "(SIL) had that problem when she was pg. It never went away. It was so bad that now she's on Accutane."

Grrr. What happened to my "glow" ?!

If girls really do steal your looks, then this is going to be one beautiful child.

Re: Spider Bites or Acne

  • I have HORRIBLE acne on my chin bone and near my hair line...oh ya, there are some on my arm too!! I swtiched from Oil of Olay to Cetaphil which is safe to use. My dermatologist suggested it a while ago and my face has started to clear up a little. I just can't believe how bad my arms are, there are red bumps and pimples all over my upper arms, looks like I'm taking steroids!

  • I never had acne, but used Proactive just bc I like the product. When I got pregnant,I stopped using it. In my 2nd tri I started to have a few bumps on my face.I switched to using a soap called African Black Soap and you can order it online. You can use it on your whole body and it really has taken care of it. When I get in the shower,I use a hot towel to "steam"my face ,then apply the soap and allow it to sit while I wash my body.
